Ross Community Garden have been exploring together how to best respond to the situation in Ukraine.

There is already a beautiful Peace Pole Garden situated there with over 30 different countries represented. The team have now installed a pole in the centre, which has been painted by service users.

The words in Ukrainian were painted by Daraya, an employee of Haygrove who support the project. The words on all the poles say, ‘May peace prevail on earth’. The garden is open Monday to Saturday from 10am-2pm for anyone to visit and to take some time to reflect or pray.

Tim Shelley, Project Leader at the Community Garden said: “It’s been amazing to the generous response by local residents to the situation in Ukraine.

“We are hoping this area of the garden will also be helpful and a place to look after our wellbeing in these difficult times.”
