MADAM, Once again Herefordshire Council are focusing their cuts on the most vulnerable of our society. Not content with forcing the closure of The Chestnuts (and trying to blame it on the trustees), I read that they are raising the charge for Meals on Wheels from £2.80 to £4.40.

This is a staggering increase but nothing the council does would surprise me any more. As for the proceeds of the sale of the Chestnuts being retained and spent in Ross on community assets. Well, I am not holding my breath.
