THE Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is calling on local community heroes to support its Ross-on-Wye shop by volunteering their time and energy.

Volunteers play a vital role in the charity shops and every item sold supports emergency missions across the Midlands region.

The shop in Gloucester Road was officially opened by the town’s mayor last December and is one of charity's newest shops.

Volunteering in a charity shop offers an opportunity to contribute to the community and make a difference to the lives of those who need emergency assistance from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Whether it’s a few hours a month or a few days a week, the hours are flexible.

The charity has recently received reaccreditation to the prestigious Investing in Volunteers Standard, which provides reassurance that it provides an outstanding experience for people dedicating their time.

Rachael Abi Rached, head of Retail at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Every purchase made in store at one of the charity’s ten shops help fund essential emergency missions across the region, so all donations are greatly appreciated.

“Volunteering is also a great way to give back to the community. If you’re interested in gaining new skills and helping a lifesaving cause, joining our team of volunteers is the perfect way to start.”

Any donations of pre-loved goods including small furniture, bric-a-brac, clothing, accessories or electrical goods, will be gladly received by the shop during its opening hours Monday to Saturday: between 10am and 5pm and Sunday between 10amand 4pm. There is a drop off point outside the shop for donations.
