A number of keen Burns supporters and Scottish Dancing fans of all ages joined together on January 27th at Lyde Arundel near Hereford, for a delicious Haggis supper followed by some wild Scottish Reels into the early hours, led by George Buchanan’s Band. The event was held to raise much needed funds for the Herefordshire community music charity, The Music Pool.

Major Patrick Darling was an excellent piper for the evening and Dennis Schiavon gave a highly amusing and lively Address to the Haggis, followed by The Immortal Memory. Toby Whittal-Williams addressed The Lassies and Buzzy Cooke gave The Reply.

The Haggis were provided by Macsween of Edinburgh and AtoZest Catering of Hereford ensured that a delicious supper was served to all.

A Silent Auction was conducted and in total the whole event made just over £3,700 for The Music Pool.

The Music Pool is the community music charity for Herefordshire and beyond. The Music Pool provides a wide variety of music-making activities for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. In particular they aim to help those least able to take part because of disability, financial hardship or social isolation – hence their motto: ‘Music For Life – Music For All’.
