Residents are being invited to attend a public meeting to find out about the installation of an eel and lamprey pass at Blakeney Weir.

The pass, due to be installed by the end of March 2018, is being jointly funded by the Environment Agency and Foresters’ Forest, a Heritage Lottery Funded Landscape Partnership Programme in the Forest of Dean.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, March 1st, at Blakeney Village Hall, 6.45pm for 7.00pm start.

Representatives from the Foresters’ Forest programme and the Environment Agency will explain about the installation of the pass, how they work and their benefits.

There will also be an opportunity to find out about how you can get involved as a volunteer to help maintain and monitor the pass.
