The application for a new Tesco store with car parking, a petrol filling station, and a new access road at land off Overross Street, Ross, looks set to be refused by?Herefordshire Council later this week.
The planning officers have identified and raised matters of concern about the proposal with the applicant, including the commercial damage it might cause to the town centre as identified in the Deloitte report. They have not been able to resolve these issues with Tesco.

UPDATE 4/4/14: Planning at Herefordshire Council have just informed the Ross Gazette that the decision regarding the refusal of the Tesco's planning application, was in fact an input error by Herefordshire Council, and no official decision has been made by the planning department. According to a spokesman for Tesco they are still in discussion with Herefordshire Council and hope to progress their application. More details as and when they happen.
