Local businesswoman, Laura Dobbs, is celebrating a special birthday later this year and although she is planning a great party night with friends and family she has her fingers crossed for a very special guest, Gary Barlow.

Laura has been a fan of Gary since his days with Take That and when she heard through Twitter that Gary had agreed to be a Surprise guest at five milestone birthdays this year, she knew she had to try and get Gary to visit hers.

In order to attract Gary’s attention Laura is organising a Twitter campaign with best friend, Emma Creswick: #getgarytolauras40th.

The local Fire Fighters, as well as Ross Juniors Football team are supporting her. Ross Rugby Club have taken the hashtag banner with them on their trip to Ibiza and the friends are visiting lots of local businesses asking for their support. Pupils at Brampton Abbotts School, where Emma and Laura are both members of the PTFA, are taking part next week.

The staff at the Ross Gazette were happy to get up close and personal with Gary, even if it was only a cardboard cutout, and to support Laura’s campaign.
