MADAM, As a pensioner, I was dismayed to hear (from the Gazette) that the pensioner's concessionary parking scheme had been withdrawn and parking charges were rising. I raise this again after just seeing the headlines today about Mary Portas' warning about the future of high streets - and her advice to government to LOWER parking charges. We are indeed lucky to have councillors who know more about the health of the high street than Mary Portas! Leaving aside the injustice of this move, it is clear that the result will be less visits to Ross town centre and less income for Ross traders. Would the Gazette be kind enough to publish the names of the councillors who took these decisions on parking, so that I and other pensioners can make sure that we reward them appropriately at the next election?
