Madam, Despite the vandalism by some bonehead, Pigs' Alley has been improved out of all recognition, thanks to the hard work and wonderful artistic endeavours of a number of people working to improve, rather than destroy, their environment.
It is perhaps invidious to single out one person, but I was most impressed by Councillor Gordon Lucas on Saturday and Sunday, a solitary figure at work long before most people's breakfast time, shovelling up the litter in the private car park beside the alley.
What a pity the owners cannot be persuaded to do their civic duty. Congratulations to all, and I hope that the Heart of England judges appreciate the results.
