SEVERAL roads and footpaths in the Forest of Dean will be closed in the coming days for essential maintenance, resurfacing, drainage and safety works.

Among the affected routes is Rocks Road in Lydbrook, which will be closed from Orchard Road to School Road until October 24 for footway resurfacing.

Holly Lane in Ellwood is shut from October 22-28 for National Grid works, while New Road (B4234) near Parkend is closed until October 25 for tree felling and vegetation clearance, with no pedestrian access due to safety concerns.

Public Footpath GDY 41 in Dymock remains closed due to a dangerous bridge, with the closure extended for up to six months from its original emergency notice issued on September 5.
