THE new owners of the Plough Inn have applied for listed building and advertising consent for new signage to the building which dates back to the 17th century.

Black Country Ales proposal for new signage for the pub in Over Ross Street which closed in 2020, at the outset of the Covid pandemicc, will be in a traditional style that include hand painted signs to the front and side gable of the building.

A new hanging pictorial sign will be installed on the front elevation, and lighting will be installed to illuminate the signs.

The building will be retained as a traditional public house and will re-open to the public later this year.

The new signage would be carefully positioned so as not to obscure or compete with significant architectural features, and its scale will be proportionate to the building and streetscape.
