PLANS to replace an existing garage and a dilapidated summer house with slightly larger structures in Symonds Yat have been approved by Herefordshire planners.
The application relates to Wildfell Cottage, which is located upon a hillside which rises steeply westwards from the River Wye.
The proposal seeks permission to replace the existing garage with a new larger garage along with the replacement of an existing summer house with a slightly larger structure for use as a home office.
Extensions and alterations to nearby properties demonstrates that sensitively executed design approaches are already an established part of the wider local context.

Planning officer Natalie Sullivan said that having visited the site, the main issues to be considered are the scale, design and appearance of the proposal in relation to the host dwelling and added: “By combining sensitive design, appropriate mitigation, and targeted ecological enhancements, the development would ensure that any potential environmental impacts are minimised.”
