Residents have applied for permission to reduce the height of eight yew trees which are making it difficult to access a county church.
Applicant Barbara Gratton has asked for the trees on either side of the footpath leading to St Peter’s Church in Peterstow, near Ross-on-Wye, to be reduced by two metres in height.
She also asks for permission for them to be banded to reduce the amount of overhang onto the footpath from the church car park to the door of the church as it is hindering people’s access.
Residents have until August 16th to comment on the proposals which need planning permission because they consist of works to trees in a conservation area.
Herefordshire Council planners expect to deal with the application by August 30th.
