TWO employees from a Herefordshire-based social housing provider have been recognised for their work to improve safety and sustainability at the Great British Fleet Awards 2025.

Platform Housing Group, which owns and manages around 50,000 homes across the Midlands, is celebrating after John Parker and Adam Jones were honoured at the prestigious industry event.

John Parker scooped the award for Fleet Safety Superstar in recognition of his work launching the FSGB Achieve Driver Management Mobile App.

The new technology has already made a significant impact across the organisation, helping reduce risks by allowing better monitoring and support of driver behaviour.

Speaking after receiving his award, Mr Parker said: “I’m incredibly proud to receive this recognition. The FSGB Achieve Driver app represents a huge step forward in how we manage driver behaviour and reduce risk. It’s been a real team effort, and I’m thrilled to see the hard work paying off.”

Meanwhile, colleague Adam Jones was shortlisted in the Fleet Eco Superstar category and was highly commended by judges for his efforts to introduce a new generation of electric vehicles to the company’s fleet.

Jones led the roll-out of 44 Electric Light Commercial Vehicles across the organisation, which included installing EV chargers at drivers’ homes as well as Platform offices.

His work has made a vital contribution to Platform’s wider decarbonisation programme by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and supporting a cleaner, greener transport network within the business.

A spokesperson for Platform Housing Group said: “We’re incredibly proud of both John and Adam for the dedication, innovation and passion they bring to their work. Their achievements reflect our values as an organisation and demonstrate what can be achieved when we invest in smarter, safer, and more sustainable solutions for our staff and the communities we serve.”
