POLICE have confirmed that a dog died following an incident on the outskirts of Newent.
Officers from the Forest of Dean Neighbourhood Policing Team say a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being the owner of dogs dangerously out of control in a public place on Friday, April 25.
The arrest came after information was received from the local community and as a result of police inquiries.
Two dogs were seized in the Malswick area and the man has been released under investigation while investigations continue.
Police say they are aware of concerns in the area and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
