The Ross Quilters have once again handmade and donated 94 heart shaped cushions to Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford.

The group which meets regularly in Upton Bishop use their talents and skills to make a personal gift to let patients know they are supported.

The cushions will be distributed at Hereford County Hospital via Breast Cancer Haven, a national charity that provides free personalised care and support to anyone affected by breast cancer.

Di Emmett, Centre Manager at Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford said:

“These hearts are a beautiful gift that comes at a very difficult time for the women who receive them. They provide comfort in lots of ways to women who have just undergone surgery.

“I just want to say a huge thank you to the Ross Quilters for once again providing these wonderful cushions.”

Marilyn Reynolds, from Ross Quilters, said: “There are 38 women who regularly meet in Upton Bishop to share their skills and learn new quilting techniques.

“Each year we dedicate some of our time to handmake the heart cushions for Breast Cancer Haven. We all know somebody who has had breast cancer and as a group we want to give something back that can make a difference to a woman who has just had surgery for breast cancer.”

Breast Cancer Haven supports women and their families via a network of five welcoming centres around the UK and through an expanding network of other services, including outreach work.
