Long Summer holidays are never boring for children in Ross when they can enjoy one of the very successful workshops at The Ross Heritage Centre.
These exciting opportunities for children to learn about history and their heritage through fun and creativity take place during each week of all the school holidays. On Thursday, August 27th, the children and their mums were learning about rag rug making with Nina Williams of the Herefordshire Council.
They were making small rugs in a variety of shapes and sizes. Hearts were very popular. The older children worked with pieces of wool in different shades, while the younger ones were given brightly coloured, fuzzy pipe cleaners to thread through the frames.
Nina told The Ross Gazette: "The children like this activity because it is easy to learn and they can choose their own colours to create something bright and attractive."
