Madam, Am I alone in thinking what a sham this whole council recycling business is! I employ 11 people who come to my office to work. I am not obliged to but I supply them with teas and coffees throughout the day. I collect the plastic milk bottles (and biscuit packets) and up to now have taken them to the Recycling Centre which the council has effectively closed down.
When I asked Herefordshire Council if I can take these few items to the Council Recycling centre, I am told that it is 'trade waste' and that I would be liable to 'unlimited fines' if I took them there.
So, we now have thousands of blue boxes, left useless by an organisation that did the job the council wished to have no part in, and conscientious recyclers like me are penalised and forced to put these items into landfill. How stupid is that?
