The Town Clerk, Sarah Robson, told members of Ross-on-Wye Town Council at their full meeting on Monday, January 9th, that they are still waiting for Herefordshire Council’s solicitors to sign the licence before the barrier at the entrance to the Red Meadow car park can be installed.
Ms Robson told the meeting:?“I felt positive that I’d be able to tell you it’s all signed and sealed, but there have been a few hiccups.”
She explained that County Council’s legal department require clarification on certain aspects of the terms, such as who owns it.
Herefordshire Council own the car park, but Ross Town Council paid for the majority of the bill to have the barrier made.
The barrier was called for by members of the public to deter travellers from setting up camp in the car park.
Ms Robson added that Halo, who own Ross Swimming Pool, have made a contribution for the cost of the barrier.
Ms Robson said that Halo are eager to see the barrier installed, and she said that they should be kept informed as to the progress. “Hopefully there’ll be some good news soon,” she said.
