THERE was a real buzz in the changing rooms as the Ross Juniors' men prepared for their first ever game and apprentice Leighton Hall dished out the shirts.
Any nerves that may have been present as the team faced HWX United were sent well and truly packing as Will Barker tucked away a very tidy finish after only five minutes to give Ross the perfect start to their campaign.
Will Barker was pulling the strings in midfield and there was some relentless work up front from Andy Francis.
It took only 11 minutes for Francis to yield success from his work finding himself in front of goal, calmly taking his time, picking his spot then pounding the ball neatly in the bottom corner.
Despite dominating the bulk of the first half Ross went into the half time break 2 – 1, after they conceded a goal and their stranglehold on the game slipped.
