The Courtyard’s 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner fundraising event raised an incredible £10,700.

Over 160 guests were treated to a fabulous night of 1920s themed entertainment, food and music. The evening included excerpts from Bugsy Malone, the first youth production to be performed at The Courtyard 20 years ago, performed by current members of The Courtyard Youth Theatre, Hereford Academy of Dance and X-Entricity Theatre Company. This was followed by a delicious three-course dinner, prepared and served by Courtyard staff and stewards, and rounded off with a performance by local party band, The Hey Yahs.

The Courtyard gave special thanks to guests, staff, stewards, board members and volunteers as well as their sponsors.

Giving Manager, Melanie Denning, said: “What a night to remember. This was the first time we’ve ever held a sit-down dinner with entertainment in our Main House but the feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the brilliant fundraising total was the cherry on the cake.

“Having kicked off our birthday in style, there are plenty more events and activities to help us reach our Anniversary Appeal total of £70,000 by next August.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
