Ross duo Ben Williams and Russ Joseph finished 33 overall/13th class on last week's SJR Plains National Rally in their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6. Round 4 of the BTRDA Series and Welsh Clubmans Championship brought the 140 crews to Welshpool for seven special stages in the classic Welsh Forests of Dyfi, Garheiniog and Hafren.
Williams found the opening two tests extremely slippery and ran wide on stage two and picked up a slow puncture. A cracked rear disc on stage four cost a bit of time,and they were also hampered by the car cutting out on hairpins but enjoyed the event and arrived back in Welshpool 33rd overall and 13th in class and more valuable Welsh Clubman's Championship points
Fellow Rossonians Dan Gray and Rob Tuckwell, had a short lived event in the IM Gray Plumbing/Heating Peugeot 106 when they slid off on stage two. Luckily there was no damage, but it brought their rally to an untimely end.
