The Ross Youth Lions Leo Club members think carefully about who they want to help. They are keen to take part in community activities and are aware of those who need a bit of extra help in life. So their latest donation was made to an organisation that helps young people with disabilities and special educational needs, the Marches Family Network.
President, Poppy Burton, presented a cheque for £300 at the ‘Lions Den’ in Gloucester Road. The Leos hope that the money will go towards helping to provide activities for young people from Ross-on-Wye in particular.
Ross Youth Lions Leo Club is open to all young people and they get together regularly in John Kyrle High School.
The group, sponsored by Ross Lions Club, empowers young people to undertake community based projects and be part of a world-wide organisation.
Several Leo Club members have moved into volunteering as members of Lion Clubs after they have left school.
Anyone who would like to know more can contact Poppy at JKHS or via the Ross Lions website or Facebook.
