The National Women’s Register is an organisation that started in 1960 to enable women to meet other women locally, to share and explore thoughts, ideas and experiences, and to enjoy lively, stimulating conversation, broaden their horizons and develop new friendships. There are groups nationwide with members meeting once or twice a month.
The Ross group is small, usually about eight or nine, and friendly and would welcome new members. They usually meet on alternate Monday evenings in their homes (though not obligatory to host) and plan their own programme which includes reading and discussing books, researching issues or current affairs which they then meet to discuss, they try to avoid domestic subjects. In addition, they have a monthly lunch and always include a few purely social meetings in the programme. There are also national events including a telephone quiz, themed evenings, workshops, correspondence magazines and an annual conference available for members.
Potential members are welcome to come along to a few meetings before you join.
