BEER lovers in Ross-on-Wye will be able to sample ales from as far afield as China, Singapore and Ukraine when a 12-day festival gets under way next week.
The Mail Rooms in Gloucester Road will host its latest Wetherspoon beer festival from Wednesday, October 7 until Sunday, October 18, with a selection of cask ales available throughout the event.
Five international brewers will feature, representing China, Denmark, Singapore, Ukraine and the USA, alongside a selection of British breweries.
It will be the first time the Ross pub has served cask ales from Singapore and Ukraine, while many of the beers in the festival have been brewed for the first time exclusively for the event.
The international selection includes Urbrew Oolong ESB from China, Mikkeller English Dream Pilsner from Denmark, Lion Mango IPA from Singapore, Varvar Session Golden Ale from Ukraine and UPP Liquids Pinball Wizard from the USA.
British beers will include Cairngorm Autumn Nuts, Otter Reggae, Loch Lomond Flying South, Oakham Dressed to Impress and Exmoor Red.
Five vegan beers will also be available, while unusual ingredients used across the festival range include coconut, coriander, mango and tea.
All of the festival beers will cost £2.69 a pint, with customers also able to order three third-of-a-pint tasters for the same price.
Pub manager Jack Ryder said: “The festival is a great celebration of cask ale.
“It will allow us to showcase a selection of superb beers, featuring many not previously available to our customers in the pub, including those from brewers as far afield as China and Ukraine, as well as those closer to home.”
Tasting notes will be available in the pub’s festival magazine, with a digital version available through the Wetherspoon app and website.
Customers can order the festival ales at the bar or through the app.
