Dear Editor,

Although the snow lay ‘deep and crisp and even’ quite a number did get in to hear my poetry reading in aid of Send a Cow, which you had kindly publicised.

Donations came in from many others who had not been at the fund raising afternoon and the total has now reached £950. Because this money has come in the designated period it will actually be doubled by the UK Government Aid for the benefit of "Send a Cow".

May I send my very grateful thanks to all those generous donors through your columns, please?
