MADAM, I visited the park today by the
riverside in Ross. I was disappointed by the
lack of facilities in the park for young children.
The play area, maintained by Herefordshire
Council, was dirty and unkept. We stayed
only a short time with my little boy as I felt
that is was a disappointment and too unclean
to use.
The main metal door of the play area keeping
dogs out would not close and therefore
dogs were allowed to frequently go into the
area. The metal see-saw was broken and had
just been left in the area.
The floor tiles were covered in moss and
dirt and the playground climbing frame was
unkept. I originally went to the park last summer
and complained to the council about the
amount of glass found in the play area and the
broken gate. I couldn't see any glass in the
area today, but was upset to see that the gate
had not been fixed.
There were a great many people in the park
area today as it was a nice day, it was just a
shame that the council couldn't provide clean
and safe facilities for the young families to
use.
