Madam, I read in last weeks' Ross Gazette that Halo intend to reduce the depth of Ross Pool from 3m to 2m at what is currently the deep end. They call this an improvement to the pool as it will cut energy and chemical use.

As a regular user of the pool I can assure Halo that this is not an improvement to the facility for myself and indeed all other users of the pool. A reduction in depth will amongst other things make diving more difficult and no doubt lead to a ban on diving in the future as it will then contravene their Health and Safety policy. We have already had the diving board removed.

Halo should realise that their proposed action will only reduce the enjoyment we currently gain from the pool and could potentially reduce its use......mind you that would then give them grounds to close it altogether. That really would cut both energy and chemical use. Perhaps that is what they really want?
