The funeral of Derek Walker, well-known local hotelier and publican, will take place on Friday, November 4th, 2016.  A private cremation for family and close friends will take place at 11.30am followed by a celebration of his life, for all that knew him, at 1pm at St Mary’s Church, Ross-on-Wye.

The family have requested that bright ties should be worn and no flowers but donations to the Alzheimer’s Society can be made.

Derek, together with his wife Liz, ran the Wye Hotel (now Penyard House) from 1968-1985, after which they purchased The Crown Inn on Howle Hill which they ran until 1996.    

Derek barely spent a day away from his wife Liz during their 53 year marriage and was immensely proud of his three children; Andrew, Kate and Chris and was a doting grandad to his six grandchildren; Marina, James, Sam, Ellie, Charlie and Alice.
