Richard Mayo of Truffles is the chairman of the new Ross traders' group, he was voted in at Monday's inaugural meeting. Caroline Utting is the group's secretary.

A very well attended meeting began with the Mayor, Councillor John Edwards in the chair. The meeting had been called at the request of local traders.

Councillor Edwards explained that the primary objective was to establish an independent organisation which would represent the true voice of the traders, "a vital sector in bringing prosperity to the town."
