MADAM, Nigel Vandyck via email may by now have

discovered that the Linton Parish Council could not even

muster a quorum for its recent meeting, and that the

considerable expense of it had no value whatsoever.

I have no reason to apologize for what they were up

to ten years ago — it would have taken more than one to

put a stop to it. But we might well ask ourselves why six

out of ten members of the previous council, including the

chairman, should suddenly want to quit.
