Visiting restrictions at Ross community hospital have been eased following the reopening of the Merlin and Peregrine Wards.

The restrictions had been put in place following an outbreak of Norovirus.

The hospital re-opened on Saturday, January 7th, in time for visitors at 3pm.

However, the hospital is asking that where possible children are not brought in and has reinforced the message that it is vital that anyone with diarrhea and/or vomiting do not visit the hospital until they have been free of symptoms for 48 hours.

Visitors are requested to practice good hand hygiene and use the alcohol gels available in all wards/departments.

Wye Valley NHS Trust thanks all patients and visitors for their understanding during this period and to emphasise that these restrictions were put in place to protect patients as part of the Trust’s zero tolerance approach to healthcare associated infections.
