Herefordshire band, Nycosia, whose members include Billy Kibble from Sellack, near Ross-on-Wye and Theo Beech, who attends John Kryle Sixth Form, held a hugely successful EP Launch Gig at Hereford Arts College on February 25th.
The band’s debut EP ‘Pariah’ was recorded by Tom Manning at Keep Recording in Raglan and was produced by Wavelength Records. It is a typical example of their unique style, which falls into the djent genre; progressive heavy metal.
The band was transformed when Adam Barkley, from Monmouth, joined Nycosia on vocals in June last year. This energetic front man always gets a really positive response from the audience.
Since Adam joined the band this talented group of musicians, who play guitars and drums, have been busy writing new songs, recording and gigging from Bristol to Bolton.
The EP has already received rave reviews and the release of the EP coincided with the news that the band’s single ‘Miscommunication’ from the EP was on the New Noise Cover mount CD on the April issue of Metal Hammer Magazine.
Rose Kibble, the band’s manager told the Ross Gazette: “This recognition for their debut single is is a huge achievement for this young band.”
The stunning artwork is by Tom Roberts Illustration and the band’s logo was created by Very Metal Art, who also produced the lyric video for the single ‘Miscommunication.’
The EP can now be purchased either as a download or a physical copy and can also be purchased from River Music in Ross-on-Wye.
