MADAM, Two weeks ago I went to post a letter at 4.30 in good time for the 5pm last post, emblazoned on the box as it always has been, on this Alton Street post box.

A postman was already emptying the box. I ran the last bit and asked, 'are you coming back?' He said, 'no. The post is always 4.30pm. He said he though it always had been. I pointed out the clear 5pm on the box. He said, 'well, it's not my job. I'm from Hereford,' and drove off. Not the most courteous of people.

I rang next day to bring this to the attention of the office and was told very politely how sorry they were and would look into it.

The sign is still 5pm. How many important letters have missed the last post I wonder and for how long. I think this is important and should be corrected.
