Alice Hurley, of Hoarwithy, won the Medium Open on Deseado at the British Dressage Area Festival held in Buckinghamshire, and was second on Marques in the first Medium Open class.

This qualifies the two Spanish horses for the Winter Medium Championships at Hartpury next spring. Alice and the Spanish boys have qualified for the Irish Nationals and will also be competing in Ireland in January.

Deseado, who scored 68.48% to win the Medium Open, is a horse "showing huge potential for top level dressage", according to premierpre.com – an organisation which specialises in finding performance stallions. Read the Gazette for the full report.
