Heavy rain, injury, and nerves due to the pressure to win at least three out of four rubbers to stand a chance to get promotion from Division 6 into Division 5, set the scene for what was a tense and dramatic match for Goodrich ‘D’ie-Hards against Leominster B on Sunday, August 11th.

It was the last match of the tennis Summer season for Leominster in second place on 34 points, who came to Goodrich who were in third position on 30 points.

Further disruption by rain brought discussions about postponement, however all wanted, given the importance of the match, to continue in between the showers if possible.

Things were tense in the final rubber. A very focused Goodrich pair, Sue and Karla, took the first set 6-3.
