GOALKEEPER Natasha Hamm – who started her career at Ross Juniors – was part of a Euro-winning England team.

The Deaf Lionesses beat Poland 3-1 in the final of the European Deaf Futsol tournament in Croatia.

Natasha, who lives in Coleford, was part of the 13-woman squad.

She said: “I was very nervous – we focused on training hard and working together as a team.

“We had plenty of staff who helped us as a team to prepare every match to make sure we were fit and healthy.

“We fight, we are powerful, ruthless, resilient and we never give up.”

In a Facebook post she added: “I honestly don’t even know where to begin…to say I’m overwhelmed is an understatement.

“Becoming first place champions with the England Deaf Women’s team is something I’ll carry in my heart forever

“This journey hasn’t just been mine — it’s been built on the love, support, and belief of so many incredible people around me.

To my family… thank you for standing by me through every high and low, for the sacrifices, the encouragement, and the unconditional love.

“You’ve been my rock through it all.

To my friends…thank you for cheering me on, picking me up when I’ve doubted myself, and always believing in me.

“Your messages, your support, your energy — it’s meant everything.”

She also thanked her employers, Foyle Food Group in Cinderford, for their support and allowing her time off to represent her country.

“That understanding and encouragement has played such a big part in making this dream possible, and I’m so grateful to be part of such a supportive team.

“This win isn’t just ours on the pitch — it belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey.”

Natasha started playing at Ross as a teenager and now is keeper for Ellwood Ladies.
