Ross Juniors Football Club recently received a grant from The New Grove Trust. This money has enabled the club to purchase a set of mobile 9v9 goals.

The New Grove Trust has been supporting community organisations operating within the Monmouthshire, Forest of Dean and South Herefordshire areas since 2010.

Vice Chair, Vanda Nixon told the Ross Gazette: “These will prove to be invaluable in the summer months when all our all permanent posts are removed to enable the pitches to be reseeded. And will allow those teams that are transitioning from 7v7 to 9v9 to practice in the larger goals before the new season starts.”

In the newly assembled goals are the participants who attended a Ross Juniors FC training camp in the Easter holidays. The camp entailed a range of activities from learning new skills to helping the children to develop their knowledge of the game and different style of play which are quite popular in the modern day game with a range of drills and mini games set up. There was also some fun involved with challenges such as penalty shootouts and cross bar challenge.
