Fashion and Golf were the order of the day when the Ross Golf Club Ladies Captain Jan Reid held a fundraising day for her nominated charity, Megan Baker House. The event was extremely well attended and Jan raised £1000 for her charity.

Megan Baker House, based near Leominster, offers life changing outcomes for children and adults with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy and early onset Parkinson’s.

A nine hole bowmaker was followed by a coffee morning and on the catwalk a sample of this years’ golfing fashions; golfers from around the three counties were in attendance.

The nine hole bowmaker was won by a team from Rodway Hill; Lyn Mclean, Lynette Taylor and Jenny Fieldon on the front nine, and on the back nine a home team comprising of Sally Fycun, Sally Lawrence and Pat Johnson.

The following Tuesday saw the first qualifying medal of the season which was held in difficult conditions; thick fog saw the start delayed by an hour, eventually play got under way with a slightly reduced field. The results were: 1st Martha Norton nett 74, 2nd Sally Fycun nett 75, 3rd Sally Lawrence nett 76.
