Christmas festivities began in earnest recently at the Ladies Christmas nine hole competition with Santa’s helpers. There were many elves and reindeers putting in an appearance at Ross Golf Club.

After a fun nine hole round of golf, the ladies enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner at the club.

The winners on the front nine holes were Jenny Freel, Pat Johnson and Lorraine Fenner.

The winners on the back nine holes, who were aided by a little Elf magic, were Ruth Pimlow, Sarah Forrest and Sally Fycun .

On a more serious and heartwarming note, the previous lady captain, Katie Greenwood, recently visited the Strensham base of the Midlands Air Ambulance to present them with a cheque for £2,757 raised by the Ross Ladies Section over the past year.  

In rural areas, the air ambulance is a lifeline for those injured in remote areas who need rapid emergency treatment and transfer to hospital. 

The service is run totally on charitable funds so donating to this wonderful charity can make all the difference.
