Ross Golf Club’s Seniors Captain, Andy Baldwin, chose Ombersley Golf Club for his annual away day and in the absence of trees the course was very forgiving, as was the weather which remained pleasant for most of the day. This meant some significant scoring achievements notably by relative newcomer David Bridges who was the day’s Champion, also claiming the prize for the longest drive when he just got the better of Tim Rigden.
Peter James was runner-up and with Andy accompanying the top two prize-winners, the best team prize was a formality as was the nearest the pin prize, with Chris Good scoring a ‘hole in one’ to complete the day’s celebrations. Andy was appreciative of the support he received from his seniors committee, with special mentions for Scott Thomson, Tim Rigden and Hugh Elliott and specific praise for Paul Dando for organising a raffle to ‘help others’.
Thanks to the generosity of the 44 seniors present the fundraising pot for Ross Club Captain Martin Pimlow’s Charity, The Stroke Association is now £220 better off.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
