ROSS Golf Club’s Bradley Court Cup was won by 12-year-old, Harry Griffiths, beating an adult field in the process.
The competition was played in a bogey format and Harry will now attend the annual trophy presentation evening and pick up an adult trophy.
Harry’s plus six bogey score was just enough to take the title on a count back from Harvey Hancock, who also scored plus six. Harvey has already won two major competitions this year but was unable to make it a hat-trick as the youngster showed the form that has seen him picked for the Gloucestershire Golf Union under 14 squad.
Tim Hall, of Ross Golf Club, told the Ross Gazette: “At just 12 years old Harry is certainly one to keep an eye on for the future and this competition win comes as no surprise. This win speaks volumes for his future and for his progression.”
Tim added: “The adults were shocked but they all know how good he is and that he has massive potential.”
This is the latest in a long line of successes for Harry and mentor, Tim Hall can see a bright future for the 12-year-old.
He said: “Harry has a bright future in the game and I am sure this is one of many competition wins here at Ross Golf Club. He has one goal in mind, being as good as his hero Rory McIlroy, with more performances like this, who knows what the future holds.”
