One of the final official duties undertaken by Kim Hampson as he recently completed his highly effective year as Ross Golf Club’s men’s Captain, took Kim and club member, Patrick Curtis, to the Urology Department within the Macmillan Renton Unit at the County Hospital in Hereford.
During the past 12 months Kim has received marvellous support from all sections within the Gorsley based Ross Club in fundraising campaigns to benefit his chosen charity, Prostate Cancer UK, and the total sum proved to be a highly impressive £4274.
£499 of this, together with a £101 donation from Patrick, will create a welcome addition to the Urology clinic through the purchase of a Clinitek Status analyser.
The use of this equipment automates and improves the accuracy of urine samples for the early diagnosis of urological cancers to provide a direct benefit for the County’s Multi Assessment and Diagnostic clinic which sees thousands of new patients each year.
Kim is looking forward to arranging the presentation of the remaining £3700+ to the Prostate Cancer UK Charity in the very near future.
