At Ross-on-Wye Golf Club’s Annual Presentation Evening, 12-year-old Jordan Hughes was able to enjoy an evening that he will long remember, when was awarded as the Club’s Most Improved Player of the 2016 season. At the presentation evening, Jordan was presented with a trophy to celebrate his achievement.
Since taking up golf in April 2015, it has been a remarkable journey for Jordan, who is a pupil at John Kyrle High School. He joined the Ross Club’s Juniors Development Group at the start of this year.
In the care of Head Professional, Tim Hall and his team, within Tim’s ‘School of Golf’ format, the school’s 'continuous improvement' culture has enabled Jordan to move from a 26 handicapper to a 12 handicap player in just seven months.
This included him losing five shots in one day, when his gross 84 nett 63 medal round won Jordan the Ross Men’s Open in June, where 105 experienced golfers from far and wide took part.
Jordan clearly has a highly promising future in golf to look forward to, which is aided by this invaluable experience of taking part and winning adult competitions.
