The ’Investment in Young People’ policy, introduced by Ross Golf Club in recent years, continues to grow in prominence. The latest initiative, inspired and coordinated by the Club’s Juniors Forum Committee and Head Professional Tim Hall and his ’School of Golf’ Assistant Professionals, witnessed a coach-load party of 24 youngsters, parents and supportive members embarking upon the first Juniors Away Day.

Their destination was the delightful Southerndown Golf Club, situated in the Vale of Glamorgan, and its prestigious Championship heathland links course, complete with panoramic views across the Bristol Channel.

The day’s golf with teenagers, men’s and ladies 2017 Club Champions, Cam Haines and Sophie Price, setting a marvellous example, offered something special and many highly valued experiences for everyone. The day’s team prize was won by Abbie Bishop, Phoebe Barber and Julia Wilde with Jayden Decloedt, and brothers Jay and Liam Greig featuring in the singles category prizes.

An experience to remember as well for some of the emerging Juniors Academy players, represented by nine year old, Cameron Hughes and 12 year old, Harry Unthank and his 14 year old brother, Freddie.
