The Men Seniors members (60+) of Ross Golf Club have taken full advantage of the recent perfect golfing conditions and a series of competitions and events in their annual programme have provided the ideal opportunities for success and continuous improvement.

The latest fourth round of the annual Layton Cup competition attracted a highest ever 110 members entry, representing a ’best of series’ played over six rounds throughout the summer. The total of the best three stableford rounds determines the ultimate champion and Trophy winner, which also includes coveted honours board recognition.

28 handicapper, Joe Snowball showed the way on this occasion and his 43 points total won him significant rewards and a 2 shots handicap reduction, with Robin Taylor, Steve Martin and Keith Ray in close pursuit with 42 points each. Phil Bull continued his good form to score 41 points and he was followed by a trio of 40 pointers, represented by Bob Baker, John Hartle and Mike Archer.
