The latest major competition in Ross Golf Club’s events programme for its Seniors Men Members 55+ was the 4th round out of six to be played for the Annual Layton Cup which is decided on the total of the best three rounds played. 97 members took advantage of the ideal playing conditions and 13 handicapper John Palmer produced a masterly round of stableford golf to amass 44 points, playing to a handicap of five, resulting in a two shot handicap reduction to 11.

The Men Seniors annual Trevor Lane Knock-Out Cup in which 80 members entered originally in April is also heading towards an exciting climax with the quarter final matches about to take place in readiness for the Club’s Knock-Out Finals Day and Trophy Presentation Evening on Sunday, September 8th. The Quarters will see Antony Graham take on Paul Warwick - Michael Bradburn facing Scott Thomson - Adrian Hope entertaining Nigel Gibbs and a titanic tussle when Club Captain Martin Pimlow and Club President Geoff Baker do battle.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
