ROSS Golf Club are celebrating their third win in the annual NGFL Cup, reports KEITH RAY.

The mainstream clubs affiliated to the Gloucestershire Golfing Union, which includes the Gorsley-based Ross Club, battle it out each year in the season’s foursomes league finale, with seven Division One teams doing battle at Broadway Golf Club this time.

The format consists of four pairs playing foursome’s golf where the combined three best gross scores determine the Cup winners. And the Ross Club’s impressive 226 gross score proved unbeatable on the day leaving teams from Cotswold Hills and Lilley Brook, both Cheltenham-based clubs, in second place, six shots adrift on gross 232.

Ross were equally successful in the competition in 2017 and 2018, and the latest win represents a hat-trick of success in the past six years on which the current ‘A’ Team Captain Simon Mills and his squad can reflect with considerable satisfaction.
