During 2019 Members of Ross Golf Club have witnessed and welcomed the appointments of a hat-trick of new custodians to their ‘hidden gem’ tree-lined golf course at Gorsley.

The the start of the year saw Steve Dun take up his position of Course Manager, bringing with him considerable experience after serving spells at prestigious Cheshire golf courses at Mere in Knutsford and Dunham Forest in Altrincham.

Members have since been introduced to Greg Adams, their new Assistant Course Manager, who joins after seven years as Assistant Superintendent at Wisley Golf Club in Surrey and with over 22 years of green-keeping, landscaping and construction experience in both Northern and Southern hemispheres across a multitude of different climates.

Interestingly, Greg’s landscaping and sports field construction company in Llanelli was responsible for maintaining the renowned Scarlets rugby pitch at the Stradey Park and installing an artificial turf area for Swansea’s equally renowned Ospreys pitch. Combined with his work at Rondebosch and Parrow GC in South Africa, at Crowlands Heath GC in Dagenham and Machynys GC in Swansea means that Greg is ideally placed to face another meaningful challenge in the Wye Valley now that he and his wife Paulina and baby Ella live locally.

A considerable strength to the family team is being brought by their Mum, Rebecca who joins them as a familiar face to many members having worked locally with considerable experience in the catering industry. Sarah, Tabby, Codi, Fiona and Ashlee are also members of their effective team.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
