Ross Golf Club’s 2018/19 Men’s Captain, Robert Tuttiett, was delighted to celebrate the culmination of the fundraising efforts during his year in office with a presentation of a cheque for £5828.78 to Clare Cassidy, Area Manager of the British Heart Foundation (BHF). This significant donation could not have been achieved without the support of club members from all sections who responded so generously to Robert’s drive and enthusiasm throughout his year to make the achievement a real team effort and reflective of the ‘collective team spirit’ that exists within the Gorsley based Club.
Clare said: “We are incredibly grateful to Robert Tuttiett and all the members of the Ross-on-Wye Golf Club for raising this amazing sum to help fund our work and save lives. The money they have raised will help us fight for every heartbeat and keep families and friends together for longer.”
Robert Tuttiett added his further endorsement with a ‘huge and sincere thank you to everyone who so generously gave their time and donations - a superb response for a very worthy cause.”
The BHF also provides practical advice and training in CPR and arrangements are in place for the Ross Club to be loaned a training kit providing the opportunity for members to acquire or brush up on their CPR lifesaving skills.
By happy coincidence there is an existing close liaison with the BHF carrying out research and the Stroke Association providing practical expertise when stroke cases occur making those occasions a real win/win scenario.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
